Senior Analyst, Finance Transformation

Job Description

This position will be based in our Boston office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office 4 days per week and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.

Strategic Finance Transformation at Wayfair serves as an enabler of the Finance function. We leverage a blend of technical and business expertise to design and implement sustainable automation and process transformation solutions. These solutions range from report automation and code creation to AI automated insights and tech builds in partnership with our Engineering teams.

Wayfair is looking for a technical project lead who can comfortably liaise with our India‑based data engineering team to build reporting products in Google Big Query / SQL. In this role, you will be responsible for translating business requirements to a technical engineering team, and working across several projects simultaneously to deliver solutions and suggest the appropriate paths forward. This role also has significant responsibility and touchpoints on delivering our AI insights strategy, as you will further influence the deployment and maintenance of AI solutions built on top of these reporting products.

• Drive the creation of reporting solutions:
  Guide our technical Data Engineering team on creating reporting products and validating the results meet the business criteria
• Translate business requirements and align to our Transformation strategy:
  In partnership with other Finance Transformation team members, assess business requirements against our AI and Transformation strategy to suggest bolder and more impactful solutions and influence the org to move toward a more automated state
• Test new tools and solutions:
  Help Finance Transformation pilot new tools such as Cursor and in‑house AI coding and analytics solutions
• Support Data Governance efforts to drive our AI analytics engine:
  Within our reporting layers, define and document key Finance metrics to enable AI engines to produce analysis at scale
• Drive improvements with our Finance Engineering partners:
  Work on continuously improving upstream Finance tech systems by strategically influencing our tech partners
• Influence our medium term Tech strategy:
  Be a primary participant in our six‑month tech planning cycles by proposing and influencing technical proposals for tech to complete in our planning process

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, or an analytical field, such as economics, engineering, accounting, business, math, statistics, science, or analytics, or an Information Systems degree
• 3+ years of work experience in an analytical environment, with usage of a coding language and insight generation. Working with a mix of technical and non‑technical stakeholders on project deliverables is a plus
• Proficient in SQL / GBQ, bonus for first‑hand experience with AI coding tools
• Demonstrated ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication, and influence; strong ownership of tasks, deadlines, and projects with an emphasis on structure and organization
• Bias towards curiosity and unafraid of experimentation and failure; along with the determination to push through obstacles and challenge yourself
