the Opportunity

National IT’s mission is to deliver IT services and solutions that are responsive to business needs, adaptive to change and essential to the mission of the Federal Reserve Bank. Core Infrastructure Services (CIS) supports the stability and security of IT systems and operations. As an IT Advisor you will be an integral part of our communications team, helping lead, draft, and coordinate executive and key stakeholder communications during high‑impact IT incidents alongside the Enterprise Incident Management (EIM) team.

You will also create system‑wide IT communications to inform partners and the employee base about key activities or deployments. Special projects may include strategic communications and storytelling related to the vision, value, successes and challenges of our organization. This position requires strong storytelling skills and experience supporting executive communications and works under minimal supervision.

What You Will Do
  • Provide 24/7 executive and user communications support for major IT incidents, drafting updates and distributing key messages in various media.
  • Develop executive presentations for system‑wide governance groups and other CIS executive meetings.
  • Help develop communication strategies to continually improve effectiveness, clarity, and impact of all communication types supported by the team.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to stakeholders, peers, management and executive leadership to implement effective communication strategies.
  • Translate complex subject matter into simple, well‑understood messages.
  • Write, proofread, update and approve communications to service partners and users.
  • Support communications tools, including maintenance, coordinating business requirements for enhancements, testing, user access, and coaching stakeholders on communications skills.
  • Ensure adherence to content and brand standards and partner with functional business communicators to promote consistent messaging and user experience.
  • Prepare and deliver recommendations and presentations for management and executive leadership.
  • Monitor and analyze media trends to continue effective internal communications.
  • Shoot, edit and produce videos to enhance messaging and training.
  • Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Typically requires 6‑9 years for Senior level Advisor, and 10+ years for Advanced Advisor.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong technical aptitude and complementary strong technical writing skills.
  • Excellent editing skills.

  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple complex projects.
