Release Train Engineer (RTE)

Location:

Remote, EDT or CDT- EDT preferred

Top Skill Sets & Experiences:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar, relevant military experience
• SAFe Release Train Engineer certification is desirable
• Expertise in Microservices
• Advanced Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager
• SCRUM Master Certification is mandatory
• Expertise in Agile too chains - JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket etc
• Project Communication
• Regular project reporting to all stakeholders
• Requirement Management along with SCRUM team

Specific project or industry experience be required? o Travel and Hospitality experience is ideal, but not required; ability to be imbedded in a client environment/independent to some extent is crucial

• Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Digital Towers (ART and Solution Train) using various tools, such as the Program and Solution Kanbans and other information radiators
• Currently leveraging Jira Projects (had to re-establish those post furlough) and Structure (Jira plug in)
• Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations (Quarterly) and Release Calendar
• Consistently pulled into Release Management conversations to help sort through what squads and scope are in each release
• Facilitate Quarterly Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events
• Single handedly established the framework for Quarterly Planning in leu of PI Planning
• Summarize Tower and Squad Quarterly Commitments and publish them for visibility and transparency
• Work with Shared Services partners to socialize Digital priorities and track completion of dependency work
• Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the Tower sync, S3, Program Lead sync, Release Management sync
• Conduct Retrospectives when necessary and take action on those retrospectives
• Escalate and track impediments o Stand up and facilitate S3
• Track down impediments and issues if assigned. Ensure that each issue, impediment, and ask for help is assigned and owned
• Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
• Provided a holistic view of Digital teams through excel spreadsheet (transitioning to Clarity)
• Convincing leadership to use Clarity or some other tool to manage and track headcount and capacity
• Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
