Position Overview:
As a member of the Information Technology Group, this position will play a key role in Investments and Research projects, with a concentration on our hedge fund strategies. We are looking for an individual who can document, manage system requirements, integration, quality assurance and implementation. The ideal candidate will possess extensive business and systems analysis skills and a solid understanding of asset management and capital markets.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and document business requirements and specifications
- Work with business team to determine priority, scope and schedule for user requests
- Understand business processes, identify problems and opportunities
- Manage requirements change and maintain requirements traceability
- Conduct business and systems requirements analysis at code and data level, such as data mapping and data conversion analysis
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the business architecture
- Participates in developing user acceptance testing
- Demonstrate client focus and relationship management skills
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience working as an IT Business Systems Analyst in the financial services industry
- Experience in the hedge fund industry, preferably with a hedge fund or asset manager
- Strong knowledge and functional experience in Equities, Equity Derivatives, Currencies and Fixed Income asset classes
- Working knowledge of General Ledger/Fund Accounting systems, Profit-and-Loss calculations
- Strong knowledge of order management systems (OMS);
Experience with Hedge Serv, or other third party vendor software solutions for hedge fund administration - Prior direct responsibility writing structured business requirements, functional specifications, test plans and test cases
- Technical background in data integration in the financial services industry
- Solid understanding of system development methodologies and techniques, and an excellent grasp of database concepts and principles
- Experience with SQL (Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
