Digital Promotions Specialist

Role Overview

The Digital Promotions Specialist at The First Church of Christ, Scientist and the Christian Science Publishing Society executes paid and organic digital campaigns across platforms including Facebook, Google, email, and others. The role interprets promotional strategy into tactical execution to support reader acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives that connect audiences with the Church’s content, products, and services.

• Build and implement paid promotion campaigns across email, social media, paid search, SEO, Whats App, and SMS.
• Serve as the point of contact for third‑party vendors and partners.
• Collaborate with senior promotion specialists and stakeholders to devise paid media strategies and optimize campaign content across platforms.
• Work with analytics colleagues to measure initiative effectiveness, uncover new promotion opportunities, track KPIs, and report on performance using tools such as Adobe Analytics, Google Big Query, or similar.
• Operate within an agile/scrum environment, working cross‑functionally with designers and copywriters to produce campaign assets.
• Develop gift and holiday campaigns onsite, in print, and via paid media.
• Manage paid campaigns on Google Ads, Meta, Linked In, and 3rd‑party vendors, monitoring spend, ROAs, and adjusting bids and targeting.
• Conduct keyword research, on‑page optimization for SEM/SEO, and AI optimization.
• Collaborate with web teams and developers on landing pages and short URLs.
• Build and segment email lists, run A/B tests, and manage automated email workflows.
• Partner with the technology service group to monitor and maintain database hygiene.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience:

Two to five years of digital promotion experience utilizing Facebook, Google or other major digital advertising platforms.

• Knowledge of email service providers such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Experience with Whats App and/or SMS service platforms.
• Proficiency in managing relationships with digital marketing partners and vendors.
• Strong skills in Excel, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides.
• Working knowledge of HTML.
• Experience with photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, etc.).
• Familiarity with agile/scrum principles.
• Self‑starter who can work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a collaborative team environment.
• Exposure to managing promotion and paid campaigns from conception to conclusion.
• Excellent oral, written, and visual communication skills, especially for explaining promotional campaigns and their impact.
• Ability to create paid and promotional stakeholder presentations.

This position works a hybrid schedule in the Boston headquarters.

Pay range: $76,025 – $98,832.20 annually. Salary is determined based on applicable factors such as education, experience, and market benchmarks.
