Director, Fund Financial Systems

Overview

Help drive the evolution of automation and data-driven operations within Harbour Vest. In this role, you’ll support the Accounting, Performance, and Portfolio Analytics functions by building, rolling out, and maintaining automation solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. The position is a hybrid work arrangement with 18 remote workdays per quarter at the employee’s discretion.

• Automation Development and Rollout:
  Build, test, deploy, and maintain automation solutions that support Accounting, Performance, and Portfolio Analytics workflows.
• Team Leadership:
  Manage, mentor, and develop a small team responsible for supporting automation, data analysis, and operational process improvement.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
  Analyze large datasets, identify trends, validate outputs, and present findings clearly to collaborators and leadership.
• Business User Support:
  Partner closely with business users to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure automation solutions meet operational needs.
• Escalation Management:
  Triage and resolve issues related to automation, data outputs, and process exceptions; coordinate with relevant teams as needed.
• Process Improvement:
  Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes, improve controls, enhance data quality, and increase operational efficiency.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
  Maintain clear documentation for automation logic, processes, controls, and user guidance.
• Communications and Storytelling:
  Create clear presentations, summaries, and updates that communicate progress, findings, risks, and impact.
• Support department-wide initiatives and special projects as needed.

• Strong SQL, Python, and general coding skills.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining automation solutions.
• People management experience, including coaching, prioritization, and team development.
• Strong data analysis, validation, and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to present data, findings, and recommendations clearly.
• Experience supporting accounting, performance, portfolio analytics, or investment operations functions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience managing escalations and communicating resolution plans effectively.
• Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with business and technology teams.
• Strong focus on detail, accuracy, and operational excellence.
• Ability to effectively balance multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred:
Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or Bachelor of Science (B.S) or equivalent experience. 10+ years in Finance, Investment Operations, Data & Analytics, Technology Automation, or related roles.

Base Salary Range: $ - $ (USD). This is one component of total compensation and is provided in accordance with local requirements.

The role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and overall firm performance.
