VARO Partners has been retained by a leading global investment manager to identify senior quantitative technology leaders to help shape the next generation of front‑office investment platforms across Securities and Risk Analytics.

These are highly visible positions sitting at the intersection of quantitative research, investment technology and engineering. Rather than building models yourself, you’ll leverage your previous quantitative experience to lead the design, delivery and evolution of sophisticated investment systems used by portfolio managers, quantitative researchers and investment teams. Benefitting from significant ownership, close partnership with investment teams and the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities immediately or over time.

This is not a traditional Business Analyst position. We’re looking for individuals who began their careers building quantitative models, pricing libraries, risk platforms or investment analytics, but who now enjoy solving larger technology and organizational challenges.

You’ll act as the technical bridge between front‑office investment professionals, quantitative researchers and software engineering teams, ensuring complex quantitative ideas are successfully translated into scalable production systems. Working across the full investment technology lifecycle, you’ll influence architecture, platform design, prioritization and implementation while helping shape the future direction of investment analytics.

• Partner directly with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers and senior investment stakeholders to understand complex business requirements.
• Translate quantitative models and investment workflows into scalable technology solutions.
• Lead the functional design and implementation of front‑office analytics platforms.
• Drive delivery of large‑scale initiatives spanning risk analytics, securities analytics, portfolio management and investment data.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to define architecture, APIs, data models and system design.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, performant, auditable and suitable for production use.
• Lead requirements gathering, functional specifications, testing strategies and production rollout.
• Provide subject matter expertise throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the function.
• Help define the future direction of quantitative technology within the organization.

The successful individual will combine deep quantitative knowledge with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. You’ll be equally comfortable discussing stochastic models with quantitative researchers, reviewing technology architecture with engineering teams and working directly with investment professionals to define future platform capabilities.

Experience managing people is welcomed but not essential. Both positions (Securities and Risk) offer a clear pathway into technical leadership for candidates looking to move beyond individual contributor roles.
