Job Summary
The Lead Business Relationship Manager (BRM) oversees the BRM practice within IT Services, serving as a pivotal partner and advisor to business units. The role aligns IT solutions with the university’s strategic objectives, bridging the gap between business partners and technology solution providers. The Lead BRM must be adaptable, willing to take on additional projects, cross‑functional team assistance, and respond to urgent needs outside traditional hours, including security incidents, software deployments, or system breaks.
The position is hybrid, requiring in‑office presence at least three days per week and the flexibility to work beyond normal hours as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and not require future sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, project management, or a related field.
- Eight years of experience managing a business relationship, solutions consulting, or project management.
- Six to eight years of project and relationship management experience focused on strategic business engagement.

- Stakeholder management and conflict resolution, influencing decision‑making processes.
- Effective communication to articulate IT capabilities and solutions.

- Technical knowledge in risk management, architecture, and testing.
- Product management understanding to collaborate with product/service managers.
- Adaptability and flexibility to navigate diverse environments.
- Negotiation and influence skills to secure resources and support.
- High emotional intelligence for building trusting relationships.
- Strategic visioning to communicate long‑term business goals.
- Project management expertise to deliver complex IT projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

- Networking and relationship building within the industry.
Develop and nurture strong, strategic relationships with business partners, serving as a trusted advisor and liaison between business units and IT.
Lead and mentor a team of BRMs, fostering a culture of strategic engagement and collaboration.
Provide strategic advice to business partners on technology trends and opportunities, shaping their technology strategy and ensuring alignment with IT offerings.
Advocate for business projects and their value within the IT community.
Work closely with product/service managers to provide business‑needs insights, enabling prioritization and solution development.
