At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we’re hiring Solution Architects to work with top‑tier customers and their partners in transforming their enterprise IT landscapes. The Solution Architect engages with customers to understand business drivers, assess application portfolios, and design reliable and cost‑effective cloud native architectures. The role is senior and involves leading transformational change in large enterprise customers on their journey to cloud.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with executives and technical customers to design AWS‑based solutions to business problems.
- Explain key aspects of AWS services and how they fit into an overall technical architecture.
- Guide customers on deploying infrastructure and applications in a secure, resilient, and scalable way.
- Coach and mentor more junior Solution Architects.
- Identify and unlock motivators for cloud adoption and address enterprise challenges.
- Analyze application portfolios, identify dependencies and common infrastructure platform components, and assess migration feasibility.
- Assist customers by architecting solutions on AWS that leverage cloud best practices.
- Solicit feedback from enterprise customers and influence future iterations of the AWS platform.
- Assist with cost/benefit modeling and create compelling business cases/total cost of ownership studies for migration.
- Define migration roadmaps to AWS and drive buy‑in across complex organizational structures.
- 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
- Experience working with end‑user or developer communities.
