Job Description & How to Apply Below

Your role at Dynatrace

We are seeking a Senior BI Platform Administrator to own and evolve the enterprise Business Intelligence infrastructure across Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Snowflake. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role at the intersection of data engineering, platform reliability, analytics governance, and AI‑powered experiences. You will be the internal expert for federated Power BI deployments — designing governance frameworks, enforcing security models, and building reusable semantic foundations.

A key focus of this role is designing, deploying, and governing Fabric AI Agent Skills — enabling business users to interact with enterprise data through natural language and intelligent automation. You will drive measurable adoption across the organization while applying SRE principles to keep the platform performant and resilient for thousands of consumers. This role partners closely with Data Engineering, IT Security, AI/ML teams, and business stakeholders across all functions.

Responsibilities

Platform Administration & Federated Governance
  • Administer Power BI tenants including Premium/Fabric capacity, workspace lifecycle, gateway management, and deployment pipelines across dev, test, and production environments.
  • Design and maintain governance frameworks for federated Power BI deployments — defining workspace topology, naming conventions, dataset ownership, and cross‑team publishing standards.
Fabric AI Agent
  • Design, build, and deploy Fabric AI Agent Skills that expose enterprise data, metrics, and workflows to business users through natural language interfaces.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML and business teams to identify high‑value use cases for agent skills: sales pipeline Q&A, customer health queries, operational KPI dashboards via chat.

RBAC, row‑level security & access governance.
  • Design and implement enterprise‑grade RBAC across Power BI, Fabric, and Snowflake — ensuring consistent identity governance from source to consumer.
Semantic modeling & reusable data foundations
  • Build and maintain certified semantic models as the single source of truth for enterprise KPIs and business metrics.
  • Establish dataset certification standards, versioning, and deprecation workflows to manage the semantic model lifecycle.
SRE, Performance & Environment Management
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Dev Ops, Fabric Git integration, and the Power BI REST API to automate deployment, testing, and rollback.
  • Produce migration runbooks, risk registers, and rollback procedures; communicate status to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Define SLIs/SLOs for report load time, dataset refresh success rate, agent response latency, capacity utilization, and API availability; own incident response runbooks.
Adoption Measurement & Enablement
  • Define and track platform adoption KPIs: active report consumers, dataset utilization rates, agent query volume and satisfaction scores, and cost‑per‑active‑user.

This is a remote eligible position. Candidates who live within a 45 mile radius of Boston, MA;

  • Demonstrated experience administering federated Power BI deployments — multi‑tenant, subsidiary, or external embedding scenarios.
  • Hands‑on Microsoft Fabric experience including work spaces, Lakehouse, semantic models, and Fabric AI skills or Copilot Studio configuration.
