Systems Business Analyst Sr
Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) is recruiting a Systems Business Analyst Senior to join our Capital Partners Technology Team. The role acts as a liaison between Capital Partners’ systems and business groups, defining and documenting business needs, functional requirements, and ensuring technology solutions enhance and support operations. The analyst will evaluate technology alternatives and recommend solutions to both business and technical audiences, participating throughout all phases of the systems development life cycle with a focus on strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop clear, concise methodology documents (interviewing, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, screen design, etc.).
- Review and assist in the development of project plans, workflows, and resource assignments.
- Facilitate definition of functional requirements through workshops, prototyping, and design sessions with user analysts and programmer analysts.
- Translate and present project concepts into visual images clarifying design elements for both business and technical audiences.
- Manage distinct efforts via waterfall or iterative development processes as assigned by the Project Manager.
- Ensure methodology is followed, provide meaningful feedback, and maintain issue logs.
- Coordinate and support communications around systems and user acceptance for assigned efforts.
- Identify, mediate, resolve, and eliminate miscommunications between business and technical project team members.
- Conduct user training.
- Use SQL or reporting/BI tools (e.g., Qlik Sense) to perform data analysis, validate report requirements, and confirm test results.
- Participate in development of test strategies, plans, and cases.
- Translate system workflows into system configuration.
- Participate in test execution and document results.
- 5‑7 years of experience in a financial services company, preferably Private Banking and/or Investment Management.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience working directly with business counterparts to clarify requests and translate them into functional requirements.
- Direct experience working with development teams to describe requirements, answer questions, and perform integration/QA testing.
- Proven business analysis skills, including business requirements, proposals, and workflow design.
- Ability to analyze current workflows and identify improvement opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills: manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Professional communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
$100,000‑$150,000 Base Salary + Annual Target Bonus. BBH’s total rewards package includes discretionary bonuses, profit‑sharing, long‑term savings, healthcare, income protection, professional development, and paid time off.
