Location: Boston, MA (Remote - Eastern Time Business Hours)

Employment Type: Part-Time | Contract (1 Year + 2 Optional Extensions)

Job Summary

Guru Consulting Services LLC is seeking an experienced Web Accessibility Specialist (WCAG 2.1 AA) to support a Higher Education Word Press modernization initiative. The ideal candidate will conduct accessibility audits, perform code-level remediation, validate WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, and collaborate with development and QA teams to deliver accessible, compliant, and user-friendly digital experiences. The role requires expertise in accessibility testing, assistive technologies, semantic HTML, ARIA, Word Press, and modern web accessibility best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct manual and automated accessibility audits for enterprise web applications.
  • Perform WCAG 2.1 AA compliance testing and code-level accessibility remediation.
  • Validate keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, semantic HTML, and ARIA implementation.
  • Test Word Press themes, templates, plugins, and reusable components for accessibility.
  • Prepare accessibility reports, remediation plans, and compliance documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and project managers throughout the SDLC.
  • Support continuous accessibility monitoring and governance initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, HCI, Digital Accessibility, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in web accessibility testing and remediation.
  • Hands-on experience with WCAG 2.1 AA, WAI-ARIA, accessibility auditing tools, and Word Press CMS.
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technologies, semantic HTML, and accessibility best practices.
