Database Administrator, Oracle Specialist/ Consultant, Systems Administrator
Inte Pros is partnering with a global financial services leader to hire an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support the Oracle database environment powering the Eagle investment platform. This team manages approximately 800 Oracle databases across 75–80 client environments, ensuring the performance, availability, and reliability of mission-critical systems. We're looking for a core Oracle DBA with strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and scripting expertise—someone who enjoys working in large-scale enterprise environments and is passionate about operational excellence.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle database environments, including Oracle 19c, ASM, RAC, and related infrastructure.
- Analyze and resolve complex database performance issues using SQL execution plans, trace file analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization techniques.
- Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, cloning, backup, and recovery activities.
- Develop and maintain automation using Korn Shell (preferred), Bash, or C Shell scripting to improve operational efficiency.
- Utilize SQL and PL/SQL to support database administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Support Oracle Golden Gate replication and other database technologies as needed.
- Partner with infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve production issues and ensure high availability.
- Contribute to standardized database administration practices, operational procedures, and continuous process improvements.
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical production environments.
- 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience supporting enterprise Oracle environments.
- Hands-on experience administering Oracle 19c databases.
- Strong Oracle performance tuning experience, including:
- SQL execution plan analysis
- SQL trace file analysis
- Query optimization
- Indexing strategies
- Strong Shell scripting experience (Korn Shell preferred; Bash or C Shell also acceptable).
- Experience troubleshooting complex production database issues.
- Strong understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a highly operational environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Oracle RAC administration.
- Oracle Exadata.
- Oracle Golden Gate.
- Oracle ZDLRA.
- Oracle ZFS Storage.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) is a plus but not required.
- Support a combination of on-premises and cloud-based Oracle environments.
- Work within a highly standardized, process-driven enterprise organization focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Hybrid schedule based in the Boston area (Everett office also available).
- Flexible Agile Flex model requiring an average of 2 days onsite per week, or 20 onsite days over a rolling 90-day period.
- Standard business hours with participation in a rotating on-call schedule (currently one week every four weeks, with plans to extend to every six weeks as the team grows).
