Summary:

The Technology Training & Adoption Specialist is responsible for campus-wide technology training, digital fluency, and

technology enablement initiatives for emerging technologies and enterprise tools introduced by the Office of the CIO.

This role ensures that faculty, staff, and students are prepared to use technology effectively, responsibly, and

confidently, with particular emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI), collaboration platforms, and innovation-driven tools

(XR Technologies).

Reporting to the Director for Emerging Technology, Innovation & Digital Accessibility, the Specialist focuses on

instructional delivery, adoption support, and skills development, serving as the primary training lead within the

emerging technologies portfolio. The role translates innovation initiatives into usable, accessible, and sustainable

practices across the campus community.

Examples of Duties:

Technology Training & Digital Fluency

* Design, deliver, and maintain technology training programs related to AI, collaboration platforms, instructional

technologies, and emerging tools.

* Provide in-person workshops, consultations, demonstrations, and office hours for faculty and staff.

* Develop and deliver modular training programs, micro-credentials, and role-based learning experiences.

* Support campus users in building confidence and fluency with new and evolving technologies.

* Provide advanced user consultation, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance for institutionally supported

emerging technologies.

Training Content & Learning Resources

* Create and maintain instructional materials including job aids, tutorials, videos, slide decks, and self-paced

learning resources.

* Ensure training materials are current, accurate, and aligned with institutional technology direction.

* Contribute to training portals, internal documentation repositories, and learning sites supporting technology

adoption.

* Collaborate with IT colleagues to ensure consistency between training content and supported services.

AI & Emerging Technology Adoption

* Lead training and adoption efforts related to AI tools and platforms, supporting responsible, ethical, and

effective use.

* Partner with the Emerging Technology Strategist to incorporate hands-on technical examples into training

offerings.

* Reinforce institutional guidance related to AI governance, data protection, and responsible-use principles

through training programs.

* Support adoption of emerging technologies as they transition from pilot to broader campus availability.

* Reinforce institutional guidance related to AI governance, privacy, security, accessibility, and responsible use

through training and awareness initiatives.

Accessibility & Inclusive Training Practices

* Ensure all training materials and sessions follow accessibility and universal design best practices.

* Provide Digital Accessibility focused guidance during training sessions to support inclusive technology use.

* Collaborate with the Digital Experience & Accessibility Specialist on accessibility-related training initiatives.

* Adapt training approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners and accessibility requirements.

Program Coordination & Continuous Improvement

* Track training participation, feedback, and engagement metrics.

* Use assessment data and stakeholder feedback to improve training offerings and delivery methods.

* Assist with training logistics, scheduling, promotion, and coordination.

* Stay current with emerging educational technologies, adult learning practices, and instructional design

methods.

* Develop relationships with departmental technology champions, early adopters, and campus partners to

support technology awareness and adoption.

* Track and report training participation, adoption metrics, learner feedback, and program effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Information Technology, Educational Technology, or a

related field.

* Five (5) or more years of experience delivering technology training, professional development, or instructional

support.

* Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
