Citrix Desktop Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Citrix Desktop Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will manage and optimize our virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment built on Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. You will be responsible for image management, session management, endpoint management, infrastructure monitoring, and disaster recovery support — ensuring a seamless, reliable, and secure end-user computing experience across the organization.

• Create and update base vDisks/images using Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), including implementing rolling image updates on a routine basis for carefully executed pre-production and production deployments.
• Build and maintain machine catalogs and publish applications and desktops through Citrix Studio.
• Apply frequent but tested software patches, Windows security updates, and vDisk updates on a regular cadence.
• Track and manage licenses and VM performance via vSphere.

• Implement, troubleshoot, and adhere to Citrix security policies across the environment.
• Shadow user sessions to troubleshoot latency, application, and connectivity issues.
• Manage user access and entitlements within Delivery Groups and profile containers via FSLogix.
• Serve as an escalation point for Level 1/Help Desk tickets related to Citrix and VDI issues.
• Manage and maintain all company-issued macOS endpoints using Jamf and Intune.
• Deploy software updates, hardening policies, and endpoint security tools.

• Monitor system health and performance using Citrix Director and vSphere; proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact end users.
• Track and report against SLA commitments for the VDI environment.
• Partner closely with Active Directory, Network, and Storage teams to diagnose and resolve backend infrastructure issues.

• Maintain DR Citrix desktop environment and ensure continuity of Citrix services, vDisk/PVS images in the DR data center.
• Assist with IT disaster recovery drills, backups, recovery testing, and contingency planning for the Citrix environment.
• Document DR procedures and support ongoing readiness assessments.

• 3+ years of hands-on experience administering Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (or Xen App/Xen Desktop) in an enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and/or Machine Creation Services (MCS), FSLogix profile management, and VMware.
• Proficiency with Citrix Studio and Citrix Director for daily administration and monitoring.
• Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and core networking concepts as they relate to VDI performance.
• Experience supporting escalations from Help Desk/L1 support teams.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure teams.

• Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (CCP-V) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience with Store Front, Citrix Cloud, App Layering, or Universal Print/Profile Management.
• Prior participation in IT disaster recovery planning or drills.
• Familiarity with scripting (Power Shell) for automation of routine administrative tasks.
