Reports To: Chief Information Officer / VP of Technology
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced IT Manage
r to lead our technology infrastructure, security posture, and IT operations team. This role is critical to supporting our financial services business in a highly regulated environment, ensuring systems are secure, compliant, resilient, and aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with a deep understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements specific to financial institutions.
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including network infrastructure, systems administration, help desk support, and vendor management
- Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, SEC, SOX, GLBA) as they relate to IT systems and data handling
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams to support audits and regulatory examinations
- Manage cybersecurity initiatives, including endpoint protection, identity and access management, and incident response
- Oversee patch management, vulnerability assessments, and remediation efforts
- Maintain documentation for IT controls, audit trails, and change management processes
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve efficiency, security, and scalability
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including cloud providers and managed service providers (MSPs)
- Lead disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP), including regular testing
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of IT management experience, ideally within financial services, banking, insurance, or another regulated industry
- Strong knowledge of network administration, systems architecture, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience supporting regulatory compliance frameworks
- SOX IT controls
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework or ISO 27001
- Experience with identity and access management (IAM), multi-factor authentication, and least-privilege access models
- Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP), encryption standards, and secure data retention practices
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or ITIL
- Experience with financial industry-specific platforms (trading systems, portfolio management software, core banking systems, etc.)
- Familiarity with archiving/e-discovery tools for regulatory recordkeeping (e.g., Smarsh, Global Relay)
- Prior experience in a broker-dealer, investment advisory, banking, or insurance environment
