We're looking for a skilled SDET who thrives on solving complex problems at scale and ensuring exceptional product quality across our web and desktop environments.
As an SDET at Pre Veil, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products. You'll bring a deep understanding of testing principles and exceptional troubleshooting skills to identify, investigate, and resolve issues across our web and desktop applications, with particular focus on file management r work will directly impact our product's stability and our customers' satisfaction.
This is a hybrid role based in our Boston office.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and development teams to understand requirements and define comprehensive testing strategies.
- Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks for web, desktop (Windows/macOS), mobile and API platforms.
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans and test cases for new and existing functionality, with a strong focus on scalability, edge cases, and real-world usage scenarios to ensure system robustness.
- Specialize in testing file management features for our cloud storage solution, including file syncing, sharing, storage, and related operations.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting and investigation skills to pinpoint root cause, reproduce bugs, and provide clear, actionable bug reports.
- Actively participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements review through release.
- Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Contribute to improving testing processes, methodologies, and overall product quality.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an SDET or in a test automation role.
- Knowledge of test automation concepts and experience with automated testing tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium).
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) for troubleshooting and test execution.
- Solid, demonstrable understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience with scale, robustness, and real-world scenario testing of highly distributed applications.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proven experience testing complex web applications.
- Extensive experience testing desktop applications on both Windows and macOS.
- Strong experience in file management testing, including file operations, synchronization, and data integrity.
- Proficient with manual testing tools and techniques (e.g., API testing tools, scripting).
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, Test Rail, Zephyr).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience testing iOS and/or Android applications.
- Understanding of encryption methods, privacy, and security testing concepts.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with performance testing tools.
