We are ideally seeking Massachusetts-based candidates who are able to work a hybrid schedule that includes 3 days per week in our Boston office.

Responsibilities:

  • Be actively involved in troubleshooting, system upgrades, and automation efforts.
  • Implement and manage tools for endpoint and mobile device management.
  • Ensure robust data protection, disaster recovery, and failover processes.
  • Automate and streamline IT processes, including onboarding/offboarding, ticket resolution, and infrastructure management.
  • Manage IT vendor and SaaS relationships, including service providers for building IT, AV, and network design.
  • Serve as the primary IT support resource, resolving escalated technical issues hands-on.
  • Oversee end-user computing support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and cloud applications.
  • Develop IT operational standards, including Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management processes.
  • Establish documentation, training programs, and best practices to enhance technical knowledge and user support.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with SOX, GITC, and GxP regulatory standards.
  • Enforce security best practices, including access controls, data encryption, and endpoint protection.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage IT change processes, and maintain a secure and resilient IT infrastructure.

Strategic Growth & IT Expansion

  • Partner with the Head of IT to develop the long-term IT strategy and grow the IT department as the company scales.
  • Assist in identifying staffing needs, hiring plans, and technical roadmaps to build a world-class IT team.
  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership, ensuring IT solutions align with business needs.
  • Lead IT projects, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of hands-on IT experience in system administration, IT operations, and service desk management.
  • Strong technical expertise in Windows/Linux servers, VMware, AWS, Office 365, and enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure automation.

  • Proven ability to manage IT vendors, SaaS providers, and service agreements.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing IT service delivery and end-user support.

Preferred:

  • Industry certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, Security+).
  • Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or research-driven environments.
