Job Description & How to Apply Below

vdBA Secure Ops is building a security-led managed services practice for life sciences clients. The Project Manager owns the delivery of client projects — onboardings, migrations, and infrastructure/security rollouts — keeping them on scope, on time, and on budget. We’re looking for someone who has done this at an existing MSP, in a multi-client environment, not an internal-only PMO.

Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Ownership
  • Own end-to-end delivery of client projects — onboardings, migrations, rollouts, and infrastructure/security implementations — from kickoff through closeout.
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource schedules; keep projects on scope, on time, and on budget.
  • Coordinate engineers, client stakeholders, and vendors to keep work moving and dependencies unblocked.
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during active projects — running kickoffs, status updates, and closeouts.
  • Set and manage expectations on scope, timeline, and deliverables; communicate changes and risks clearly and early.
  • Partner with client success on smooth handoffs from sold deal to delivery to steady-state support.
Process, Tooling & Documentation
  • Manage projects in the PSA (Connect Wise or similar), keeping tasks, time, and status accurate and current.
  • Maintain project documentation — SOWs, project plans, RAID logs, change requests, and closeout documents.
  • Standardize and improve project delivery templates, playbooks, and processes as the practice scales.
Resource & Financial Coordination
  • Coordinate engineering resourcing across concurrent projects with service desk and engineering leadership.
  • Track project profitability, hours burn, and scope changes; flag overages and change orders promptly.
  • Report project health, milestones, and risks to leadership.
Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Act as connective tissue across engineering, security, and client success so project commitments are delivered operationally.
  • Escalate and drive resolution of cross-functional blockers.
  • Feed recurring project issues back into process and template improvements.
Qualifications Required
  • Must come from an existing MSP — direct experience managing client-facing IT projects in a multi-client managed-services environment, not internal-only PMO work.
  • Proven track record delivering IT projects on time, on scope, and on budget (onboardings, migrations, infrastructure/cloud/security rollouts).
  • Strong command of project management fundamentals: planning, scheduling, budgeting, scope/change management, and risk management.
  • Hands‑on experience with a PSA (Connect Wise or similar) for project and time management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills — comfortable running client‑facing meetings.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, able to juggle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Located in the Central time zone (preferred) or in/near Boston, San Francisco, or San Diego / Orange County / Los Angeles.
Preferred
  • PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience serving life sciences or biotech industries.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365/Azure migrations and security/compliance projects (SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST).
  • Experience in a security‑led MSP environment.
  • Familiarity with project/portfolio and collaboration tooling (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project).
What We’re Looking For
  • A driver who keeps projects — and people — moving without dropping the details.
  • A clear, calm communicator clients trust to run their project.
  • A fast learner who is energetic and adaptable in a fast‑growing environment.
