R.O.B.O. – Robotics Operations & Business Oversight LLC is hiring Teleoperation Engineers to support an advanced robotics program.
This is a hands-on role at the intersection of robotics operations, teleoperation, data quality, and engineering
. You will work directly with robotic systems, maintain high standards for teleoperation and data collection, support operator training and quality, and provide structured feedback to engineering teams. The role starts hands-on and can grow in scope and ownership as the program scales. You’ll be working hands-on with emerging robotic technology and contributing directly to the quality of data used to improve robotic systems.
We’re looking for people who are technically curious, detail-oriented, consistent, and take pride in doing the work well. You don’t need to be a machine-learning expert, but you should be comfortable with technology and excited about working directly with robots.
- Spend significant hands-on time operating robotic systems directly. Active teleoperation is a core, ongoing part of this role.
- Maintain proficiency across robotic systems and teleoperation interfaces, including VR, joystick, and control rigs.
- Set a high standard for task execution and demonstration quality through your own operation.
- Onboard and train teleoperation operators while establishing consistent standards for task execution, data quality, and reporting.
- Monitor and evaluate operator performance and demonstration data quality.
- Support QA processes, data tracking, reporting, and issue investigation.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and quality frameworks for teleoperation workflows.
- Maintain operational trackers, documentation, training outcomes, data quality metrics, and cross-team feedback.
- Serve as a bridge between operations and engineering teams, surfacing operator feedback and translating engineering guidance into practical operating instructions.
- Identify patterns in operator errors, edge cases, and system inconsistencies and communicate them with clear, actionable context.
- Support engineering teams in improving data collection workflows and teleoperation interfaces based on real-world operational insights.
- 2+ years of professional experience in training, QA, technical operations, robotics, or a related technical environment.
- Technical degree completed or in progress — Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields preferred.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to assess quality and coach others toward consistent execution.
- Comfortable working with digital tools, technical interfaces, and data-driven workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency during repetitive tasks.
- Exposure to teleoperation, VR-based gaming, or control systems is a strong plus.
- Experience with teleoperation systems, robotics platforms, or simulation environments.
- Familiarity with imitation learning or how demonstration data is used to train robotic systems.
- Competitive gaming, esports, or precision controller experience.
- Experience with data annotation, QA, or structured data collection.
- Experience with VR or immersive environments.
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or robotics environment.
