Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) is committed to fair and inclusive practices in working with all professionals who support our mission. We are proud to collaborate with interpreters and translators who bring cultural and linguistic competency to serve a wide range of communities across Greater Boston.

GBLS is seeking to expand its list of on‑call interpreters and translators to support our legal teams and better serve the diverse communities of Greater Boston. We are especially in need of professionals who are available for in‑person interpretation services.

Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Simplified Chinese, Amharic, Arabic, Moroccan Arabic, Khmer, Cantonese, Mandarin, Toisanese, Vietnamese, French, Dari, Pashto, Fulani, Luganda, and Spanish.

Other languages are welcome to apply!

• In‑person interpretation (on‑call)
• Written document translation (as needed)
• Paid by invoice

• $50/hour for in‑person interpretation
• $55/hour for written translation

• $65/hour for certified in‑person interpretation
• $70/hour for certified written translation

• A certificate from an accredited academic institution
• Proof of court certification

Note:

Certifications from private language businesses or corporations do not qualify.

To join our list of interpreters and translators, please email a letter of interest and a resume to the Human Resources Team r application should include:

• The languages you speak fluently
• Your availability, especially for in‑person interpretation
• Any training you have completed related to interpretation or translation
• A copy of your qualifying certificate (if applicable)
