Long Hagan Huff-Harris is seeking a licensed Massachusetts attorney with at least one year of Estate Planning and/or Trusts and Estates experience to join our growing firm in a highly client-facing, relationship-driven role
.
This position is ideal for an attorney who thrives on educating clients, leading consultations, building referral relationships, and generating new business
, while continuing to develop their substantive estate planning skills over time.
While this role includes estate planning legal work, it is not a traditional drafting-heavy associate position
. Instead, it is designed for an attorney who is energized by client interaction, business development, and maximizing earning potential through performance-based compensation.
About the Role
This is a consultation- and education-focused position
. You will serve as a primary point of contact for prospective clients, guiding them through initial conversations, helping them understand their options, and connecting them with the right legal solutions across the firm.
You will work closely with senior attorneys, intake, and marketing to ensure a seamless client experience while identifying opportunities across all of the firm’s practice areas:
- Family Law
- Business Law
You won’t be drafting documents every day but you will be learning, growing, and staying closely connected to the legal strategy behind the work.

, with access to multiple office locations across Boston, Boston Metro West, and the South Shore
. While many consultations and business development activities can be conducted remotely, the position requires a regular in-office presence to support client meetings, collaboration, and community engagement.
Office schedules are coordinated based on client needs, firm events, and team collaboration, allowing for a hybrid structure that balances flexibility with meaningful in-person connection.
Key Responsibilities
Client Education, Consultations & Business Development (~70%)
- Lead Potential New Client (PNC) consultations
, primarily focused on estate planning, with the ability to identify needs across all practice areas. - Educate clients clearly and compassionately, helping them understand their legal options and next steps.
- Convert consultations into engaged clients and guide them through the intake and onboarding process.
- Build and maintain strong referral relationships with financial advisors, CPAs, realtors, business owners, and other professionals.
- Represent the firm at workshops, community events, networking functions, and business development meetings.
- Partner with the Marketing and Intake teams to improve conversion rates, follow-up systems, and referral tracking.
- Execute outreach strategies designed to grow new business across the firm.
- Draft and implement estate planning documents, including but not limited to:
- Revocable and irrevocable trusts
- Wills
- Powers of attorney and healthcare proxies
- File and manage probate matters, including petitions, accountings, real estate transactions, and full estate settlements.
- Participate in trust and estate administration, assisting with tax filings, beneficiary concerns, and distribution planning.
- Make limited court appearances for uncontested probate matters.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on more complex estate, tax, and asset-planning strategies.
- Continue developing substantive legal skills through mentorship, collaboration, and hands-on exposure.
Who You Are
- A licensed Massachusetts attorney in good standing with at least 1 year Estate Planning and/or Trusts and Estates experience
