I am working with a top-tier law firm that is actively seeking a mid-level associate (3rd–5th year) to join its Life Sciences Transactions practice in Boston.
This is an excellent opportunity for a transactional associate who wants to build a sophisticated life sciences practice while working closely with market-leading partners and innovative clients.
The OpportunityThis role sits within a highly regarded life sciences and technology transactions group that advises biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and emerging healthcare companies throughout the full product and company lifecycle. The practice is busy, growing, and known for giving associates meaningful responsibility early.
The firm is looking for someone who is comfortable handling complex commercial agreements and who enjoys working at the intersection of IP, corporate, and regulatory issues.
What You’ll Be Doing- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of life sciences-focused commercial agreements, including:
- Licensing and technology transfer agreements
- Collaboration, development, and commercialization agreements
- Research, clinical trial, supply, manufacturing, and distribution agreements
- Advising clients on transactional issues involving intellectual property, regulatory considerations, and commercialization strategy
- Supporting corporate transactions involving life sciences companies, including M&A, financings, and strategic partnerships
- Working closely with colleagues across corporate, IP, and regulatory practices
- Managing portions of transactions and client relationships with increasing autonomy
- 3–5 years of relevant transactional experience at a law firm with a strong life sciences, technology, or IP-driven practice
- Solid experience independently drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Familiarity with IP concepts as they relate to licensing and collaborations
- J.D. and admission in Massachusetts or New York (or eligibility to waive in)
- Strong writing skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple matters efficiently
- High-quality life sciences deal flow with sophisticated clients
