The Opportunity
An established and highly regarded Massachusetts-based Private Client practice is expanding and seeking a seasoned Trusts & Estates attorney to join its team. The group represents high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals
, multigenerational families, fiduciaries, closely held businesses, and family offices in connection with comprehensive wealth transfer, preservation, and succession planning matters.
This position is ideal for a senior associate or junior partner who is developing their practice and interested in working closely with experienced partners on significant existing client relationships, while helping strengthen and sustain a sophisticated private client platform for the long term.
Key Responsibilities - In this role, you will:- Develop and execute advanced estate planning strategies designed to minimize tax exposure and preserve generational wealth
- Structure and implement irrevocable trusts, gifting programs, family entities, and asset-protection vehicles
- Counsel clients on long-term family governance, philanthropic planning, and fiduciary liability considerations
- Manage and supervise complex estate and trust administrations
- Provide oversight and mentorship to junior attorneys, ensuring high-quality drafting and consistent client service standards
- Partner with attorneys across Corporate, Real Estate, Employment, and Litigation practices to address the multifaceted legal needs of clients with substantial personal and business assets
- A J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials (LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required)
- Active Massachusetts Bar admission in good standing
- Approximately 10+ years of experience in sophisticated estate planning, estate and gift tax planning, and trust and estate administration
- A track record of managing and maintaining client relationships; an emerging or modest portable book of business is a plus, though not mandatory
- Exceptional drafting ability and sound judgment reflective of a trusted advisor serving high-net-worth families
- Demonstrated success operating within a collaborative, team-driven practice environment
This hybrid role is based in Boston, Massachusetts, with office space located in the downtown financial district.
