Senior Insurance Defense Attorney

We are a civil litigation defense law firm experiencing thoughtful, steady growth and are seeking an experienced attorney to join our Boston-based practice. Our firm is built on collaboration, professional respect, and a long-term commitment to our clients and our people. We represent a wide range of clients in complex civil matters and pride ourselves on delivering efficient, strategic, and high-quality legal services.

This role is ideal for a seasoned insurance defense attorney who enjoys handling substantive matters, working with autonomy, and contributing meaningfully to a growing practice.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will take primary responsibility for a diverse civil litigation caseload and work closely with colleagues and clients throughout all stages of litigation.

Responsibilities include:

Managing cases from inception through resolution, including settlement and trial
Developing litigation strategy and providing thoughtful legal analysis
Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal memoranda
Conducting and defending depositions
Appearing in court for hearings, conferences, and trials
Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary

Your practice will include a mix of civil litigation defense matters, such as:

General liability
Personal injury
Construction-related disputes
Commercial transportation matters
Employment-related litigation

What You’ll Bring

The ideal candidate will bring significant experience and the ability to manage matters independently. We are seeking attorneys with:

10+ years of experience practicing insurance defense or complex civil litigation
Strong writing and analytical skills, particularly motion practice
Experience preparing cases for mediation, arbitration, or trial
The ability to independently manage files while collaborating with a broader team
Experience in construction defect, employment law, or commercial transportation matters is a plus, but not required

Education & Licensure

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Massachusetts (required)
Additional bar admissions or transferable UBE scores are a plus
