Compensation$125 - $200 hourly
Responsibilities- Represent clients in court proceedings as needed
- Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed
- Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
- Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
- Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants
- Bachelor’s degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
- At least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary
- Active member of the ABA (American Bar Association)
- A successful candidate will have handled family law, focusing on matrimonial issues, for 1-2 years
- Experience in the division of assets, both real estate and financial, is essential
