Senior Counsel

Our client is seeking a Senior Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance across the lifecycle of renewable energy initiatives. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders to support project development, commercial transactions, regulatory matters, and long‑term asset operations. It is an on‑site position based in Suffolk County, MA.

• Serve as a key legal advisor for renewable energy projects spanning development, construction, operations, and asset management.
• Lead the preparation, review, and negotiation of sophisticated commercial agreements, including power purchase agreements, interconnection documents, confidentiality agreements, and construction or supply contracts.
• Provide legal counsel on regulatory and compliance matters involving federal energy regulations, regional transmission organizations, and wholesale power markets.
• Support high‑impact corporate transactions such as project acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and financing arrangements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to assess legal risk and ensure business objectives are supported with sound legal frameworks.

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with active Bar admission in good standing.
• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience in corporate law, regulatory matters, or the energy sector.
• Proven experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts.
• Strong working knowledge of energy regulations and market structures, with renewable energy exposure strongly preferred.
