Location: Boston, MA | On-site

Pay Range: $75K-$90K

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 9-5

About the Role

The Litigation Legal Assistant provides high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys, including preparation and filing of briefs, motions, and court materials. This role requires advanced technical skills, strong proofreading ability, and the confidence to independently manage filings with the Massachusetts Superior Courts.

While the practice includes a significant advisory component, the team handles multiple court filings annually and requires someone who can confidently prepare and file Rule 9A motion packages and other litigation materials.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • 5+ years of litigation experience in a law firm setting
  • Direct experience working with Massachusetts Courts
  • Proven experience preparing Rule 9A motion packages
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat, document management systems, comparison software, and Visio
  • Exceptional proofreading, organization, and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Notary Public certification preferred

Key Job Functions

  • Prepare, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents
  • Assemble and file Rule 9A motion packages in Massachusetts Superior Courts
  • Ensure compliance with Massachusetts court rules and e-filing procedures
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw, PACER, and state court dockets
  • Manage attorney calendars, court deadlines, and scheduling
  • Coordinate with courts, vendors, process servers, and couriers
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
  • Prepare materials for trials, hearings, depositions, and court appearances
  • Provide professional communication with clients and third parties
  • Handle administrative functions, including mail processing, phone coverage, and document management
