Assistant United States Attorneys prosecute all criminal and civil cases brought by the federal government and defend the United States in civil cases.
Job DescriptionAUSAs in the Criminal Division improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents by prosecuting crimes that include terrorism, violent crimes, narcotics trafficking, fraud and other white-collar offenses, civil rights offenses, human trafficking, political corruption, organized crime and an array of other federal criminal offenses.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar in good standing (in any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 3 years post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of experience practicing criminal law and/or civil litigation, superior academic credentials, and a demonstrated interest in public service.

Salary Information
:
Assistant United States Attorney's pay is administratively determined based, in part, on the number of years of professional attorney experience. The range of basic pay is $86,923 to $197,100.
