Strategic Sourcing Leader

Supply chains don't manage themselves — and at GE Vernova, the stakes couldn't be higher. We're electrifying the world's energy transition, and the materials that make that possible have to move smarter, faster, and more sustainably than ever before. As a Strategic Sourcing Leader, you'll own a $500M+ spend portfolio spanning configured systems and major/minor metals commodities, cost reduction, supply resilience, and long-term value creation.

You'll work across engineering, finance, legal, and commercial teams — and directly with global suppliers — to shape how GE Vernova sources the critical inputs that power its products. This is a senior individual contributor where your strategic thinking, commercial instincts, and ability to drive change across a matrixed organization will define the outcome.

What You'll Do

  • Lead commodity strategy across $500M+ in spend: develop and execute global sourcing strategies for configured systems and metals commodities, with a focus on cost productivity, cash flow, quality, and supply continuity — balancing short-term commitments with a long-term sustainability blueprint.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team setting direction, managing execution rhythms across safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC), and developing talent to raise the ceiling of what the team can achieve.
  • Drive cost reduction and commercial outcomes through contract negotiations, process changes, best cost country (BCC) sourcing, supply base rationalization, and sustainable cost controls — partnering with Finance to validate P&L impact.
  • Manage the full supplier lifecycle: lead global supplier selection, qualification, development, and performance management, including end-to-end contract lifecycle management and risk mitigation in partnership with Commercial, Legal, and Engineering teams.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Quality, Material Management, and Finance to promote long-term, sustainable solutions and drive product cost-out opportunities.
  • Shape sourcing policy and process: establish business policies, reporting rigor, and procurement process improvements that optimize sourcing resources and enhance the experience for internal stakeholders.

Who We're Looking For

You're a commercially sharp, strategically minded sourcing leader who thrives at the intersection of big-picture thinking and hands-on execution — someone who can build a blueprint for a global commodity and still close the deal. Required Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university — or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or a related function.

Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in sourcing, supply chain, and/or engineering, including hands-on experience in supplier negotiation, supplier selection, contract execution, and terms and conditions (T&Cs) management. Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance;
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent financial experience. Experience with metals commodities, circularity strategies, or sustainability-focused sourcing. Lean methodology training or execution experience;
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (or equivalent quality certification). Strong quantitative, data analysis, and project management skills with a demonstrated track record as a change agent. Prior GE leadership program experience (e.g., Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP), Financial Management Program (FMP), Corporate Audit Staff (CAS)).
