Senior Director, FP&A – Supply Chain serves as the senior finance partner to Vertex’s Head of Global Supply Chain, providing strategic financial leadership, planning, and performance management across supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead finance business partnering for global supply chain functions (supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics, trade compliance, risk management, business continuity, and distribution network optimization).
  • Own supply chain financial planning (annual budget, periodic forecasts, long-range plans) and scenario modeling (demand variability, inventory strategies, supply risk contingencies).
  • Provide strategic financial guidance on supply network design, outsourcing decisions, and long-term supply commitments; evaluate operational strategies through a financial lens.
  • Lead financial performance management, including variance analysis; identify productivity and cost-efficiency opportunities; drive transparency into total supply chain cost drivers; monitor working capital to optimize cash flow and inventory investment.
  • Partner with Procurement, Corporate FP&A, and other stakeholders to integrate planning and align supply chain initiatives with company financial goals.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing FP&A team; foster business partnership, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 12–15+ years of progressive finance experience with senior-level experience supporting supply chain or operations in complex global organizations.
  • Strong supply chain knowledge, including working capital optimization and supply chain economics; experience managing finances for supply chain/logistics/manufacturing (regulated industry preferred).
  • Executive communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Proven people leadership experience in matrixed, fast-paced global environments.
