Your Role at Cabot
Under limited supervision, performs the most complex installations and repairs in various mechanical maintenance specialty areas, such as mechanical, welding, heating, or piping. May lead a team of in‑house maintenance technicians and/or oversee the work of outside contractors. Very experienced in various maintenance skills, performs repairs and maintains machinery, equipment, and other plant facilities.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Provides leadership and technical expertise in mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, maintenance, repair, and installation of manufacturing equipment.
- Responds to escalated problems and performs equipment repairs as required.
- Leads major turnarounds at plants and may direct a group of in‑house maintenance technicians or outside contractors during these events.
- Works closely with Maintenance Supervisor/Manager or Maintenance Planners to identify trends and contributes to the development of inspection and maintenance schedules.
- Uses the computer to maintain records of maintenance activity and spare parts inventory.
- May participate in spare parts management.
- Participates in scheduled safety meetings and completes safety training requirements; keeps work areas clean.
What You Will Bring To Cabot
- Knowledge and experience of mechanical maintenance and repair procedures and methods.
- Knowledge of manufacturing machines and tools, including their design and uses.
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and instructions; ability to use shop power tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with others in a team‑based environment.
- Flexibility in performing changing assignments; ability to work off shift and after hours as needed.
- Vocational/technical, mechanical school and completed (certified) apprenticeship required.
- 3–5 years of experience.
