• 2 positions at North Point Labor Yard, Cambridge
• 2 positions at Stony Brook Labor Yard, Boston

P OSITION

DESCRIPTION:

Incumbents in this position will operate heavy power-operated equipment such as street sweepers, backhoes, front-end loaders and bulldozers used in the construction, maintenance and/or repair of roadways, parkways, parks, etc.; operates heavy dump trucks, snow plows, sanders, tractor-drawn mowers, surf rakes and other equipment for beach, highway and grounds maintenance; operates light vehicles such as passenger cars and panel trucks for transporting personnel and materials;

performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment; maintains records and prepares reports; and inspects contractual services.

The basic purpose of this work is to operate heavy power-operated and other equipment used in excavating, grading and other activities to construct, maintain and/or repair roadways, parkways, pedestrian bridges, roadsides, parks, beaches and other projects.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
