The Senior Manager, Strategic Growth helps the firm grow smarter, faster, and more intentionally by translating strategy into action—turning ideas, insights, and initiatives into scalable programs that directly support attorney business development, client engagement, and practice growth.
This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, project management, creativity, cross-functional collaboration, and client service. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly communicative, and collaborative, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings a hands-on and integrated mindset, and is comfortable operating at both a strategic and executional level.
This role requires a high level of energy, a willingness to work extended hours when needed, a strong in-office presence, and frequent business travel across the firm’s three offices (Boston, D.C., New York). The ideal candidate is an excellent relationship-builder with the ability to connect the dots across clients, stakeholders, and initiatives, bringing clarity, alignment, and momentum to firmwide efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities Leadership, Culture, and Collaboration- Facilitate cross-functional initiatives that deliver a sophisticated, holistically integrated Strategic Growth function for attorneys and business operations staff.
- Partner with Strategic Growth leadership (Head of Strategic Growth, Director of Practice Group Operations, Associate Director of Business Growth & Client Solutions, and Associate Director of Marketing & Communications) to align priorities, eliminate silos, and translate firm strategy into practical, attorney-ready support.
- Champion a service-oriented culture in which the Strategic Growth Team anticipates attorney needs, responds efficiently, and proactively adds value to client development and relationship efforts.
- Lead the translation of firmwide and practice group strategy into prioritized growth agendas, setting direction, sequencing initiatives, and determining where the Strategic Growth team and firm resources should focus for maximum impact.
- Provide strategic oversight of high-impact growth initiatives, monitoring progress at a macro level, identifying risks or misalignment, and directing course correction in partnership with other team leaders.
- Set strategic direction for high-potential client growth efforts, identifying priority relationships, aligning cross-practice and cross-office resources, and guiding coordinating client expansion strategies.
- Serve as the connective hub between firm leadership, practice groups, and Strategic Growth functions, ensuring alignment across marketing & communications, business growth & client solutions, and practice group management.
- Establish and refine operational frameworks, governance, and success metrics that enable consistent execution, clear accountability, and scalable delivery of Strategic Growth initiatives.
- Guide and enable execution through others, leveraging team members and firm stakeholders to ensure ideas, insights, and strategies and implemented effectively and at scale.
- Strengthen coordination and connection across the firm’s three offices (Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C.), ensuring attorneys experience consistent support, seamless collaboration, and unified strategic direction regardless of location.
- Partner with colleagues to ensure consistent internal and external messaging around strategic priorities, new offerings, and market opportunities.
- Support ongoing brand stewardship, helping ensure the refreshed brand is implemented consistently across digital, experiential, and client-facing materials.
- Drive internal engagement and adoption of major marketing and business development initiatives by creating communication plans, toolkits, and training materials.
