The Institute for Health Equity Research, Evaluation and Policy (IHE) is an affiliate of the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers, dedicated to advancing health center‑led science and eliminating health inequities. We convene communities, support scientific infrastructure, and conduct implementation research and program evaluation to identify effective strategies for achieving health equity, as defined by those with lived experience.
The OpportunityWe're seeking an operationally minded, detail‑oriented, mission‑driven Senior Manager of Operations to lead business operations and program activities s role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, program management, and community impact. You’ll establish and maintain systems that support our research, evaluation, and policy work while helping evaluate our impact and ensuring our work reaches the communities we serve.
Reports To: Executive Director & Senior Vice President of IHE
Work Arrangement: This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days per week in our Boston office, with flexibility to work remotely for the remainder of the week.
What You'll Do Financial Operations Management- Partner with the League finance team to establish and maintain financial tracking systems
- Develop and manage program‑specific and operational budgets with accurate projections
- Provide end‑to‑end grants and contracts management from pre‑award through closeout
- Manage vendor contracts and submit proposals to scientific, industry, and philanthropic organizations
- Lead and manage select programs in collaboration with health centers and community partners
- Supervise IHE staff to ensure deliverables are met on‑time and within scope
- Serve as primary writer for grant and contract reports
- Oversee ethical research practices in collaboration with MLCHC compliance officer
- Lead project and team meetings to ensure seamless operations
- Develop strategies to monitor and evaluate IHE's overall impact
- Supervise dissemination activities that engage health centers, communities, and stakeholders
- Promote health center‑led science through strategic community engagement
- 5–7 years of experience in nonprofit operations, program management, or health‑related administration
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in health‑related program administration
- Proven experience developing and managing program budgets
- Strong project management skills with proficiency in PM software and methodologies
- Experience supervising direct reports
- Familiarity with research and evaluation operations (grant submission, research project management)
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong group collaboration abilities and self‑motivated work style
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software
- Experience with grants administration or program evaluation
- Educational background in business administration
- Experience engaging community stakeholders in health equity work
