Summary
The Director of State Management & Analytics leads a high‑impact, Massachusetts‑focused analytics organization that transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights. This role serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, shaping state‑level performance by leveraging advanced analytics, market expertise, and strong decision‑making to influence P&L outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Product Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Product Department team while cultivating a high‑performance, data‑driven culture.
- Collaborate with product managers and cross‑functional partners to execute regular product reviews and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support annual product and pricing changes, ensuring continued profitable growth across all lines of business.
- Manage and influence P&L outcomes by leveraging data‑driven strategies.
- Make informed decisions using advanced analytics, modeling, and business intelligence.
- Define the structure and design of the company’s core data and reporting assets to maximize usability and strategic value.
- Anticipate executive‑level reporting needs and design proactive analytical solutions.
- Develop standardized analytics and periodically review them to drive actionable insights.
- Communicate complex data findings in clear, concise, and actionable formats for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Allocate analytical resources effectively, aligning team priorities with organizational strategic goals.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate effectively with leaders across Marketing, Underwriting, Claims, and additional departments to align strategies and achieve profit and growth objectives.
- Demonstrate exceptional resilience, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead teams through high‑stakes and complex environments.
- Serve as chair of various strategy committees, shaping enterprise direction and aligning initiatives with organizational goals.
- Mentor and develop product talent, reinforcing a culture centered on analytics, innovation, and strategic communication.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specialized experience required, Master’s degree preferred.
- 9–11 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree plus 7–9 years.
- Minimum of three years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Expertise in personal lines insurance preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing insurance products, underwriting frameworks, and coverage programs.
- Advanced technical and analytical skills, including data modeling, analytics, and strategic communication.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel.
- Ability to mentor others and champion a strong, data‑driven culture.

Pay Philosophy:
The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. Some roles at Mapfre are eligible for commission and/or bonus earnings, in addition to salary, calculated based upon factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $210,000
