The Director of Strategic Initiatives serves as a key strategic partner to the Chair of Medicine, providing high-level strategic and operational leadership to advance the mission, goals, and values of the Department of Medicine. Reporting directly to the Chair, the Director works closely with senior departmental leaders to shape, execute, and monitor the Chairs strategic priorities across clinical, academic, and administrative domains.
This role is responsible for driving major organizational initiatives, including operational restructuring, clinical operations strategy and performance improvement, implementation of compensation and workforce development strategies, faculty recruitment and leadership development efforts, research strategy advancement, and initiatives that strengthen education, clinical innovation, and philanthropy. The Director of Strategic Initiatives ensures effective coordination across stakeholders, manages complex cross-functional projects, and promotes a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Through thoughtful planning, analysis, and execution, the Director supports long-term departmental success and helps position the Department of Medicine for future growth and impact. The ideal candidate will play a critical role engaging key stakeholders including executives, developing critical analyses, driving decisions, and implementing change.
Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years of related experience. Master's preferred
