Position: Supervisor – A.M. & Overnight Shifts - Aviation Services

Overview

Symbrant Aviation Services is seeking a results-oriented Supervisor to lead and develop a team of technicians responsible for maintaining mission-critical airport systems at Boston Logan International Airport. The ideal candidate has strong leadership, organization, and analytical skills, ensuring operational reliability through proactive oversight, accountability, and collaboration.

Symbrant Aviation Services provides full-service maintenance and operational support for airport systems, including Baggage Handling Systems (BHS), Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) units, and Ground Power Units (GPU). We maintain a safe, efficient, and reliable environment for our airline partners and passengers.

Position Summary

The Supervisor serves as the on-shift operational leader responsible for the safety, performance, and reliability of all BHS and PBB systems within Terminal

C. Each Supervisor oversees a team of 9 employees and is accountable for maintenance execution, data accuracy, and adherence to performance standards. Reporting to the Station Manager
, this role partners with peer Supervisors and the Inventory/Procurement team to ensure operational continuity across shifts. The Supervisor is expected to lead by example, drive data-informed decisions, and foster a high-performance culture rooted in accountability, communication, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership & Team Oversight:
    Lead, coach, and develop a team of nine technicians, establishing clear performance expectations and ensuring adherence to operational standards.
  • Conduct structured daily shift briefings outlining priorities, safety reminders, and performance targets.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and corrective-action oversight, addressing performance issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all staff maintain compliance with OSHA, airport, and company safety policies.
  • Maintenance Execution & System Reliability:
    Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities for BHS, PBB, PCA, and GPU systems to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Validate that all work orders are accurately documented and closed out within the UpKeep CMMS system, ensuring traceability and accountability.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts, escalate complex issues appropriately, and verify root-cause resolutions are implemented.
  • Data Management & Performance Tracking:
    Monitor key performance indicators (MTBF, response times, and downtime) to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Review shift data daily to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with operational objectives.
  • Provide concise shift reports to the Station Manager, summarizing performance metrics, incidents, and follow-up actions.
  • Procurement & Resource Coordination:
    Coordinate directly with the Inventory/Procurement team to initiate part orders, verify accuracy, and ensure timely receipt of materials.
  • Maintain visibility of part usage and stock levels to prevent delays and improve maintenance readiness.
  • Communicate material and tool needs in advance of planned maintenance or system outages.

    Collaboration:

    Partner with other Supervisors to ensure seamless hand-offs between shifts and alignment on ongoing maintenance priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Station Manager to identify process gaps and implement operational improvements.
  • Ensure proactive, professional communication with all internal stakeholders - Inventory, Admin, and fellow Supervisors - to sustain efficient 24-hour coverage.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or team-lead experience in aviation, industrial maintenance, or facilities operations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, set expectations, and enforce accountability.
  • Working knowledge of BHS, PBB, PCA, and GPU systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with experience in data-driven reporting.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance (SIDA badge).
  • OSHA 30 Certification required within 60 days of hire (training provided).
  • Valid driver's license required.
