About the OpportunityOur client, a growing Boston law firm
, is seeking an experienced Legal Support Manager to lead and optimize a high-performing team of Legal Administrative Assistants and Paralegals
. This strategic leadership role focuses on workflow management
, team supervision
, process improvement
, and performance development within a dynamic law firm environment
.
- 5+ years of experience managing Legal Administrative Assistant teams in a law firm or comparable legal services environment
- Prior experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant strongly preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in legal operations management and process implementation
- Experience with document management systems
, legal accounting software
, and Microsoft Office Suite - Strong communication, coaching, and change management skills
- Proven ability to build trust, drive accountability, and develop high-performing teams
- Provide direct supervision and team leadership for LAAs and Paralegals
- Oversee legal workflow management to ensure accurate, high-quality legal documentation
- Lead performance management
, including evaluations, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback - Manage department scheduling, PTO approvals, overtime, and coverage planning
- Partner with HR and operations on staffing assignments
, recruiting, onboarding, and talent development - Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
- Coordinate legal billing training and collaborate with Accounting to streamline billing operations
- Serve as Overflow Coordinator to manage workload distribution across locations
- Support quarterly staff meetings and ongoing organizational development initiatives
- Maintain confidentiality and foster a collaborative, inclusive workplace culture
