Job SummaryThe Production Coordinator will supervise and coordinate all aspects of the exchange of components between the Subway Main Repair Facility, Car Houses, Bus Garages, and other departments, supporting their efforts to keep their revenue and non‑revenue equipment and facilities in good repair.
Duties & Responsibilities- Initiate component transactions and oversee the receiving and shipment of components and materials.
- Use and generate manifests to validate deliveries coming into and being shipped from the Subway Main Repair Facility.
- Receive purchase orders from procurement to fill requests for fabricated parts.
- Open and manage work orders for the repair of components.
- Coordinate and distribute daily work orders to the supervisors within the Main Rail Repair Facility.
- Maintain inventory control of finished stock in the component Exchange.
- Manage parts held in the base stock location used to rebuild components.
- Manage parts being fabricated internally that are to be used to rebuild components.
- Manage components involved in multi‑departmental rebuilds as they progress through the Subway Main Repair Facility.
- Receive, coordinate, and respond to correspondence involving requests for components and services provided by the Subway Main Repair Facility.
- Participate in the organization of funding proposals for RCM and other projects.
- Participate in the creation and update of standard repair procedures and standard repair times at the Subway Main Repair Facility.
- Responsible for preparing all MAT 104 to serialize parts into stores.
- Train and update facility staff on the use and maintenance of the MCRS2 system.
- Participate in special projects requiring logistics and technical research.
- Remain current with the MBTA's Safety Plan as well as the position's outline of responsibilities.
- Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co‑worker, in a courteous and professional manner.
- Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and to assist in emergencies and/or events as needed.
- Respond or report to work as directed by supervisory personnel for emergencies, extreme weather conditions, or any other abnormal conditions that impair service or the safety of service, twenty‑four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
- Assist in the management of a workforce by ensuring the fair and consistent application and strict adherence to the rules, regulations, and collective bargaining agreement (if applicable) and policies of the Authority, including the EEO, Anti‑Discrimination, Anti‑Harassment, and Anti‑Retaliation policies.
- Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees.
- Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements & QualificationsMinimum Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years’ experience in component management and maintenance management.
- Working knowledge of parts inventorying processes and procedures.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Effective organizational and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, People Soft, database, and mainframe applications.
- Ability to provide internal and external customers with a courteous and professional experience.
- Possess excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
