Job Overview
Director, Global Program Management – Clinical Oncology in Cambridge, MA. Lead global program management for major development programs and lifecycle management. Responsible for translating the integrated Global Product Team asset strategy into executable plans, driving clarity, influencing decision‑making, and ensuring patient‑centric execution. Works closely with cross‑functional teams and global partners to deliver results from early to late phases.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic direction and matrixed leadership to translate GPT strategy into an executable program plan.
- Maintain up‑to‑date key program information in PM business systems, including timelines and team integration spaces.
- Partner with GPL and PMO functions to administer team health checks, generate insights, and implement follow‑up actions.
- Drive program execution, optimize execution, and mitigate risks to meet milestone targets.
- Lead cross‑functional alignment in high‑uncertainty environments, ensuring a patient‑centric focus and innovative approaches.
- Serve as facilitator and driver of GPT to ensure progress, including agenda setting, facilitation, and accountability.
- Guide portfolio analyses and governance engagements, communicating progress and risks to senior leadership.
- Maintain risk management practices, proactively identify and resolve obstacles, and provide clear direction in urgent situations.
- Mentor junior GPMs and functional members to enhance their effectiveness.
- Lead cross‑divisional and cross‑functional initiatives and continuous improvement activities that align with broader business objectives.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with drug development in all phases.
- 5‑7 years of program management experience leading complex pharmaceutical projects in a global, multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes, make strategic decisions, and solve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and presentation ability to executive audiences.
- Matrix program leadership and management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Clinical Oncology therapeutic area preferred.
- Proactive risk management and ability to propose mitigation plans.
- Fluent in English; experience working across virtual environments and time zones.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required.
Bachelor’s degree in science or business; advanced degree preferred.
TravelApproximately 10% international travel, including US, EU, and Japan offices.
CompensationU.S. Base Salary Range: $177,000 - $278,080.
Eligible for short‑term and long‑term incentives, medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time and 120 hours of paid vacation.
