Impact Manager

City Year Greater Boston (CYGB) seeks Impact Manager candidates who will manage and mentor up to two teams of full-time Ameri Corps members, overseeing the implementation of our service model in the partner schools we serve in Boston and Medford Public Schools. Impact Managers are responsible for three main areas: program implementation, corps member program delivery and experience, and service partner management.

The Impact Manager must be effective in relationship development and team management, coaching Ameri Corps members (ACMs) per team to deliver attendance, behavior, and course performance supports to students, as well as enabling a rewarding, productive, professional and successful year of service. In this way, the Impact Manager is responsible for managing the daily programmatic operations of their team and leading them to ensure that all goals and service outcomes are met.

Additionally, the Impact Manager serves as the primary City Year liaison in schools, building strong relationships with school administrators and personnel to successfully fulfill the services in the Statement of Partnership. Reporting to an Impact Director, the Impact Manager plays a critical role in implementing City Year Greater Boston's school-based service model. They are expected to serve in person at their school site, except on days when there are in-person meetings or trainings.

This role is expected to work a 40-hour work week, with standard work hours falling between 7am- 5pm, Monday – Friday, depending on the needs of the program.

Responsibilities

Service Impact Delivery:

• Lead the execution of City Year's Whole School Whole Child (WSWC) Tier 1 supports and Tier 2 interventions.

• Oversee whole school and class service implementation, including instructional support, thematic events, and culture enhancement.

• Establish clear, measurable objectives aligned with WSWC goals and capture best practices for community sharing.

• Utilize data analysis from various sources to identify trends, improve interventions, and enhance ACM performance.

• Supervise and support ACMS in executing coordinator roles and fulfilling service responsibilities. Corps Impact Delivery:

• Lead, manage, and coach up to two teams of Ameri Corps members to achieve service performance requirements, meet Ameri Corps practitioner standards, and support members through their individual equity journeys

• Lead with a strong sense of City Year culture and values, consistently using City Year culture tools; make meaning of City Year culture and foster strong personal connections to the deeper meaning of our work in schools

• Guide ACMs to meet service performance requirements and maximize leadership development potential.

• Foster a culture of power and idealism using City Year leadership tools and best practices.

• Utilize performance management tools to set expectations, identify strengths, and facilitate individual development plans.

• Ensure ACMs are committed to student success and equipped to meet City Year standards.

• Support the management and development of Returning Ameri Corps Members (RACMs)/Team Leaders.

Partner Impact Delivery:

• Develop and manage partnerships with school administration and personnel to ensure the necessary conditions and resources are in place for corps members to deliver academic, attendance and behavior supports for students.
• Build and cultivate strong partnerships with school leaders and key stakeholders.

• Demonstrate understanding of school priorities and collaboratively implement solutions aligned with City Year goals.

• Maintain a strong presence in schools, utilizing student data strategically to gain support for initiatives.

• Coach ACMs on developing productive partnerships with teachers and other school staff.

• Cultivate strategic community relationships and leverage resources to enhance service performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, Social Work, Urban Studies, Youth Work, or other related field preferred but experience in management, non-profits, community service and/or youth work, or education is acceptable
