Responsibilities
- Supervises superintendents and employees by providing direction and training, communicating company policies, procedures, and objectives. Includes hiring, supervising performance management and progressive discipline.
- Administers company safety program, performing weekly safety audits and emphasizing safety to all employees.
- Visits job sites and performs quality audits to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and cost‑effective. Manager spends approximately four hours a day in the field working with technicians and meeting with customers.
- Uses accounting reports and Map Point to review route management and callbacks, making necessary changes to improve profitability.
- Provides technical input to sales staff on scope of work and materials needed to bid repair work, including calculating labor and material costs.
- Monitors the three‑callback‑in‑30‑days program and takes a lead in keeping cancellations under 3%.
- Works with Branch Manager and Service & Repair Sales Managers to address customers’ needs, communicating daily with customers that have low‑car status.
- Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of federal, state and local elevator industry code requirements.
- Maintains strong familiarity with company products by attending training classes and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods, working with regional field trainers.
- Administers parts program for contract service and repair to meet budget expectations and customer satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree or two years’ experience managing at a branch departmental level, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicles Report.
- Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods within the elevator industry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
Salary range: $156,000 – $200,000. The role offers a car allowance or company vehicle, fuel card, and an annual incentive program.
