ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL AID, School of Law Location
BOSTON, MA, United States
SalaryGrade 47: $62,600.00 – $75,000.00 (adjusted based on qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison)
Position TypeFull-Time/Regular
Responsibilities- Awards financial aid and counsels prospective and current students as well as alumni.
- Manages students in the LLM and other graduate programs in the School of Law.
- Oversees Federal Work‑Study, BU Law Loan Repayment Assistance Program, study abroad, visiting students, and other special enrollment programs.
- Plans and presents financial literacy events and workshops on loan repayment and debt management topics.
- Acts as primary back‑up for the Senior Director and supports the Senior Director as needed.
- Stays current on federal policies and regulations governing student aid.
- Analyzes and interprets complex regulations, policies, and financial information to determine appropriate solutions for each student.
- Maintains professionalism and exercises independent judgment in handling student matters.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, self‑directed, and take accountability for professional development.
- Creative self‑starter with extreme attention to detail and proven multi‑tasking ability in a busy environment.
- Proficiency with multiple technologies and systems used in financial aid operations.
- Experience analyzing complex regulations and financial information.
- Professional demeanor and sound judgment.
