By 2032, we intend to be leading the world in CVRM therapies, launching up to 15 new life-changing medicines.
To support this ambition, we are seeking a Global Commercial Head, Weight Management, a high-impact, global leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering commercial strategy across our Weight Management portfolio. This individual will play a critical role in defining the future of the category, enabling successful global launches, and driving long-term brand and portfolio value.
What You’ll Do- Shape clear, actionable, winning commercial strategies across multiple assets and indications in the Weight Management portfolio.
- Lead development of integrated global commercial strategies, including pre-launch, launch, and lifecycle planning
- Develop and execute strategic and operational plans covering positioning, segmentation, pricing, value proposition, and target market prioritization
- Represent the global commercial perspective to inform clinical development, regulatory strategy, and lifecycle decisions
- Lead cross-functional global teams to deliver differentiated target product profiles and maximize asset value
- Drive forecasting, business case development, and performance tracking to inform decision‑making and portfolio prioritization
- Partner closely with regional and market organizations to ensure alignment from global strategy through to local execution
- Collaborate with Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, R&D, and other key functions to ensure compliant and impactful delivery of commercial plans
- Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including key opinion leaders, advocacy groups, and industry partners
- Lead and develop a high‑performing global team, fostering innovation, accountability, and talent development aligned to AstraZeneca values
- Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or related field
- 10+ years experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry
- Demonstrated success in global or US commercial leadership roles, including launch experience
- Proven track record developing and executing brand or therapeutic area strategies grounded in customer and market insights
- Experience leveraging clinical data to inform strategy and lifecycle planning
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing cross‑functional and global teams
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across complex organizations
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD, or MD)
- Experience in CVRM and/or Weight Management
- Strong understanding of global healthcare systems, pricing, and market access dynamics
- Experience with forecasting, financial planning, and business case development
- Demonstrated ability to identify innovative, high‑impact strategies and deliver results
- High learning agility, strategic mindset, and strong communication skills
