About the Role:

The Head of Ethics & Compliance Operations & Enablement serves as the chief operating leader for Takeda's Ethics & Compliance function. As a member of the Global Ethics & Compliance Leadership Team, this leader is responsible for the governance, capabilities, technology, operational excellence, and infrastructure that enable a modern, high-performing Ethics & Compliance organization.

How you will contribute
  • Partner with Ethics & Compliance leaders and enterprise stakeholders to strengthen the effectiveness, consistency, and scalability of the global Ethics & Compliance program.
  • Advise leadership on program governance, operational priorities, resource planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Build trusted partnerships across Legal, HR, DDT, Finance, Procurement, Communications, and other enterprise functions to deliver integrated, business-focused solutions.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and service-oriented leadership across the Ethics & Compliance organization.
  • Lead the strategy, governance, and day-to-day operation of the Ethics & Compliance operating model.
  • Own the enterprise Ethics & Compliance governance framework, including annual planning, strategic priorities, leadership cadence, program governance, and the operating roadmap.
  • Lead the development and management of the Code of Conduct, policies, standards, procedures, and related governance processes.
  • Oversee Ethics & Compliance learning, communications, certifications, and knowledge management to strengthen awareness, capability, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead enterprise operational programs, including conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality, transparency operations, and other core Ethics & Compliance processes.
  • Establish and manage operational metrics, performance indicators, executive dashboards, and reporting that measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and maturity of the Ethics & Compliance function.
  • Standardize processes, governance, and operating practices to create a consistent, scalable global Ethics & Compliance organization.
  • Lead the Ethics & Compliance technology strategy, including digital tools, workflow optimization, automation, AI enablement, and technology adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce administrative burden, and improve the experience of both business partners and Ethics & Compliance professionals.
  • Partner with Privacy, Compliance Risk & Assurance, Digital, and other enterprise functions to ensure technology solutions are effective, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Continuously modernize the operating model by leveraging technology, analytics, and emerging capabilities to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as an active member of the Global Ethics & Compliance Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise strategy, organizational effectiveness, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner across all Ethics & Compliance functions to ensure consistent program execution, shared priorities, and clear accountability.
  • Strengthen collaboration across business units and regions while promoting standardization where appropriate and flexibility where needed.
  • Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team recognized for operational excellence, innovation, collaboration, and execution.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture grounded in accountability, curiosity, continuous learning, and service.
  • Develop organizational capabilities that enable the Ethics & Compliance function to evolve and scale with the needs of the business.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, JD, Master’s, or equivalent).
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience building and leading operational, governance, program management, or enterprise transformation functions within complex, global, highly regulated organizations.
  • Extensive in-house leadership experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including support of commercial organizations and cross-functional partnership to develop scalable enterprise capabilities.
