The Manager, Career Pathways, will support Career Pathways programming through operations management, and partner and team collaboration on key efforts such as New Skills Boston. Reporting to the Vice President, Programs, Strategy and Impact, and working closely with the Senior Director, Career Pathways, the Manager will help drive expanded participation in career-connected learning and pathway structures by supporting EdVestors’ cross-sector collaboration in Boston’s education ecosystem.
ResponsibilitiesProgram Development
- Manage the Career Pathways program operations and logistics.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to coordinate the design of programming, and manage operations in the delivery of immersive career-connected learning experiences for middle grade students.
- Support our partners at Boston Public Schools and school grantees to ensure a high-quality experience for middle grades grantee schools.
- Provide coordination support to Boston Public Schools and internal teams related to expansion of pathway participation in existing secondary school pathways.
- Manage implementation and monitoring of project plans in collaboration with the Senior Director, Career Pathways, using Microsoft Office and Google suite applications.
- Support administrative and operations functions of the Career Pathways team, including scheduling meetings, responding to incoming information requests, implementing program and team OR operational processes, including grantmaking.
- Provide support before, during, and after internal and external meetings, including developing agendas, facilitating, drafting meeting summaries, and coordinating follow-ups.
- Partner with EdVestors’ internal Communications staff to craft engaging content related to career pathways, including collateral for meetings, newsletters, social media, and website material.
- Manage logistics and operations for priority Career Pathways events such as briefings, the annual Seamless Advising Summit, and site visits, among others, in collaboration with the External Relations team.
- Manage and organize all operations for Career Pathways meetings and convenings including partner convenings, grantee meetings, and leadership team meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to advance program and organizational priorities.
- Initiate, organize, and participate in team and staff activities that contribute to organizational culture in keeping with EdVestors values.
- Participate in other organization-wide efforts as needed.
- Contribute to EdVestors’ internal equity work.
- Undertake special projects as assigned.
- 2-4 years of relevant full-time experience in program management or development, education, and/or the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with careful attention to detail in the midst of uncertainty.
- Strong writing skills and an ability to communicate clearly through written, oral, and visual content.
- Passion for developing systems and processes to share data information with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently and to proactively identify needs and opportunities, generating new ideas and putting them into action.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a partner-focused orientation, with an ability to cultivate and navigate partnerships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work across multiple teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite, and Outlook scheduling; experience with or willingness to learn Salesforce, Mail Chimp, and website content management.
- Experience in education systems, high schools, or career and college support/planning organizations in Boston, and/or Massachusetts (including practitioner roles), considered a plus.
- Knowledge of career pathways, dual enrollment, postsecondary, and career and college planning supports/systems, considered a plus.
