The Associate Director of Student Leadership and Service provides leadership, coordination, and advising for student leadership development, service initiatives, civic engagement,student governance support, and community-based leadership programs. This position serves as a bridge between the Center for Community Engagement and the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, ensuring that students experience a coordinated and meaningful leadership pathway through service, involvement,governance, and civic engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Journey Leadership Program and Service-Centered Leadership Development

Coordinate the day-to-day administration, planning, implementation,and assessment of the Journey Leadership Program under the strategic direction of the Director of the Center for Community Engagement. Develop and implement leadership development experiences rooted in involvement, service, global thinking, civic engagement, and experiential learning. This includes supporting curriculum development, student recruitment, participant communication, leadership workshops, reflection activities, program logistics, and program assessment. Ensure that Journey participants are connected to meaningful opportunities for service, civic engagement, community partnership, and leadership growth.
In conjunction with other CCE staff, will provide support for the Alternative Breaks (AB)/International programs. This includes breaks that take place during winter break and spring break. This includes assisting with logistical coordination of the alternative breaks including site selection, partner coordination, student leader training, risk management, travel logistics, reflection activities, and budget management. This also includes developing and leading fundraising efforts in collaboration with University Advancement and other departments to support student participation in service-based travel programs such as AB.

Student

Government Association and Campus Activities Program Board Advising

Serve as the primary staff advisor to the Campus Activities Program Board, providing leadership development, team building, mentorship,and programming support to executive and general board members.

Attend board meetings and select evening and weekend events and accompany students to NACA conferences as part of their professional and leadership development.
Support the Director of Student Leadership and Involvement in advising the Student Government Association, providing direct guidance to officers, senators, committees, and other student leaders. Assist with leadership development, officer transitions,elections, student advocacy, budget education, policy interpretation, organizational effectiveness, and SGA-sponsored service and civic engagement initiatives.
Help student leaders strengthen responsible governance, ethical and inclusive decision-making, communication, and collaboration with University departments. Provide support for student organization recognition, new organization formation, constitution review,funding processes, and compliance with University policies.

Supervision, Training, and Campus Partners

The Associate Director will assist in the supervision ofservice-learning student leaders, AB leaders, Journey student leaders and student staff; provide training, support, and performance evaluation. This may include co-supervising community service scholars and graduate fellows.
Develop and deliver trainings for student leaders, student organization officers, SGA leaders, service-based organizations,and student program planners. Training areas may include leadership development, ethical service, event planning, risk management,inclusive leadership, community engagement, fiscal responsibility,conflict resolution, and transition planning.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to supportco-curricular leadership and service initiatives. Serve as aconnector between CCE, SLI, student organizations, SGA, and other departments within Student Affairs and across the University.

Student Organization Service, Civic Engagement, and Community Impact Initiatives

Serve as a primary resource for student organizations interested inservice, volunteerism, philanthropy, advocacy, and community impact. Advise service-based student organizations and support student leaders in developing ethical, sustainable, andwell-planned service opportunities.
