Manages the activities of the property field claims unit.
Duties Ensures the timely investigation, evaluation, reservation, and equitable settlement of field claims in an assigned unit Ensures the quality of claims services provided by the unit Selects and appraises unit employees
Responsible for mentoring & training unit employees
Performs file reviews & field re-inspections
Develops the unit budget and assists the senior manager in planning
Ensures a high level of job satisfaction through the practice of management techniques designed to meet both the needs of the staff and of the company
Creates innovative ideas and methods for claims handling which improve unit and/or general claims operations
Assist in the development and implementation of Safety’s catastrophe plan.
Contributes to the protection of the company’s legal and financial interests by staying abreast of pertinent statutory, regulatory, and industry activities and ensuring application
Performs other activities as required
Qualifications
College degree preferred5 years of claims handling, both homeowners and commercial, requiredCPCU and/or AIC designation preferred
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Successful experience in setting goals, organizing work flow, scheduling, monitoring work, and providing training required
