Bio Talent is conducting a search for a Senior Vice President, Technical Operations on behalf of a rapidly growing biologics-focused CDMO serving innovative biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients.
This executive will provide strategic and operational leadership across Technical Operations, Process Development, Manufacturing Sciences & Technology (MSAT), Technology Transfer, Process Validation, and Manufacturing, ensuring the successful execution of client programs from early development through commercial supply.
The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in biologics manufacturing with a proven ability to scale operations, strengthen client partnerships, and build high-performing technical organizations within a CDMO environment.
This is a critical leadership role with significant influence over operational performance, client delivery, technical strategy, and future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the organization's Technical Operations strategy across biologics development and manufacturing.
- Provide leadership for Process Development, MSAT, Technology Transfer, Process Characterization, Validation, and Manufacturing support functions.
- Drive successful technology transfers from clients into GMP manufacturing operations.
- Partner closely with commercial, program management, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure exceptional client outcomes.
- Establish scalable technical capabilities to support increasing client demand and organizational growth.
- Drive process robustness, manufacturing efficiency, yield improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Serve as an executive sponsor for key client relationships, providing technical leadership throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and quality initiatives.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing technical operations organization.
- Contribute to strategic planning, capacity expansion, and long-term business growth initiatives.
Required Experience
- Advanced degree in Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within biologics development and manufacturing.
- Significant executive leadership experience within a CDMO, biopharmaceutical manufacturer, or biologics organization.
- Deep expertise across large molecule manufacturing, process development, tech transfer, MSAT, and GMP operations.
- Demonstrated success leading client-facing technical organizations and managing complex technology transfer programs.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements supporting clinical and commercial biologics manufacturing.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary team in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments.
